The Big Horn 70131A A Latch Template is designed to produce a precise 1" x 2-1/4" finish mortise for the edge of doors, ensuring a professional-quality fit for residential latch installations. Use a red plastic center locator (# 70135 not included) to position the template accurately on the door edge in alignment with a 1” bored hole. Each template includes two door locators for precise alignment and fine steel nails at both ends to easily and securely attach the template to the door. Secure the template to the door jamb, then remove the locator and route the mortise using a 5/8” router template guide and a 1/2” mortising bit. Ideal for both contractors and DIYers, this template delivers consistent, precise cuts for smooth and accurate latch installation every time.
